Ventura County Regional Data Share

Conejo Valley, Simi Valley-Moorpark and Ventura County Coastal real estate associations to regionalize MLS data

SIMI VALLEY, Calif., March 15, 2007 – Ventura County Regional Data Share (VCRDS), a new regional listings database in Southern California, went live this week for its approximately 7,100 MLS participants. Utilizing Rapattoni MLS technology, VCRDS serves the combined membership of the Conejo Valley Association of Realtors®, Simi Valley-Moorpark Association of Realtors® and Ventura County Coastal Association of Realtors®. The three MLSs will continue to operate independently but will share their combined data.

Previously, the three associations operated separate Rapattoni MLS systems. MLS users will find the transition seamless, even retaining their existing logon IDs and passwords, and will benefit from an expanded listings database and more functionality.

Conejo Valley and Simi Valley-Moorpark members will join Ventura County Coastal members in having the benefit of Rapattoni's Parcel Mapping feature. Parcel Mapping integrates high-quality GIS (Geographic Information Systems) data directly into the MLS. This allows current and sold MLS listing data to be presented side-by-side with property data from the county tax records on a map showing property lines. Multiple layers of data can be overlaid on the parcel map, such as lot dimensions, school district boundaries and aerial views.
