News ArticleGreater Springfield Board of Realtors® selects Rapattoni Secure Logon
SIMI VALLEY, Calif., May 29, 2007 – Rapattoni Corporation announced today that the Greater Springfield Board of Realtors® will install the Rapattoni Secure Logon authentication service with Single Sign-On (SSO) for its multiple listing service. The MLS, which serves nearly 3,000 real estate professionals in the Springfield, Missouri, area, will implement Secure Logon in September. “Rapattoni has been a valuable technology partner as our membership has grown. The flexibility of their software is unsurpassed, and has allowed us to stay ahead of the curve by offering the latest and greatest features,” said Sharon Wells, CEO of the Greater Springfield Board of Realtors®. The Springfield board installed both Rapattoni’s association management software and MLS system in 2001, and since then the board’s membership has nearly doubled. Springfield will operate the full suite of Rapattoni products following this deployment, and Rapattoni will provide a complete service package: delivery, training, and customer support from a single, unified call center. The Rapattoni Secure Logon service increases data security by ensuring that only authorized users can access the MLS. During logon, users must provide “two-factor authentication” — their ID and password (something they know), and the code displayed on their security token at that moment (something they have). The combination of the user’s password and the correct token code provides a much more reliable level of user authentication than reusable passwords alone. Since each token is associated with a specific user, it eliminates the potential for account sharing and ID theft, and ensures that only authorized users can enter the MLS site. The board’s various online services will be connected through Rapattoni’s included Single Sign-On (SSO) feature for member convenience. SSO will enable members to log on once and then access many authorized sites without requiring separate logons. For instance, after logging onto the MLS, Greater Springfield members will be able to navigate freely to the association’s Internet Member Services site to register for a class or pay their dues, without needing to log on again. Andy Rapattoni, president and CEO, said, “We strive to provide technology that is both on the cutting edge and specifically tailored to the real estate industry. We’re proud to have developed a security solution that allows associations to offer increased benefits and convenience to their members.” About Rapattoni Secure Logon About the company For more information contact Public Relations at (800) 722-7338, or visit the company’s website at http://www.rapattoni.com |
