Southern California's i-Tech MLS to join Quattro data sharing alliance

Glendale & Pasadena-Foothills associations to also implement Rapattoni Secure Logon and Parcel Mapping

QuattroSIMI VALLEY, Calif., October 9, 2007 – Utilizing Rapattoni MLS technology, the Internet Technology MLS (i-Tech) has joined Quattro, California's largest MLS database. Members of both the Glendale Association of REALTORS® and the Pasadena-Foothills Association of REALTORS® will have full access to the Quattro database beginning in December. Listings from the i-Tech MLS will be available to all Quattro participants as well.

Combining information from several MLSs into one database, Quattro is a one-stop source of real-time real estate listing data. With the addition of i-Tech, Quattro will provide subscribers with MLS content for 17 California counties, and has the ability to expand beyond the current geographic regions. This feature fosters the concept of "MLS without boundaries," while preserving local governance and making it possible for large regional firms to operate from one aggregated listing database for both IDX feeds and searching.

Rapattoni Corporation hosts the Quattro site, which members of all participating multiple listing services can access through a single sign-on portal. Rapattoni's Single Sign-On (SSO) feature enables all Quattro participants to log on one time — using their local MLS user ID and password, and Secure Logon token-based authentication — and then have the ability to access other authorized websites without having to log on again.

Glendale Association Executive Vice President Dan Lanning said, "This year we’ve taken unprecedented steps forward to expand and enhance the services we offer our members. From the many data sharing options to the improvements in mapping and security — Rapattoni technology continues to assist our agents by providing them the tools needed in today’s real estate market."

"Rapattoni keeps their eyes toward the future and has been an indispensible technology partner for us," said Executive Vice President Jacqueline Johnson of the Pasadena-Foothills Association. "Their entire support staff and implementation team have made it easy for us to offer the enhanced services and expanded data set that our MLS participants need."

In preparation for joining Quattro, i-Tech will also implement Rapattoni Secure Logon token authentication service. Secure Logon increases data security by ensuring that only authorized users can access the MLS. During logon, users must provide "two-factor authentication" — their ID and password (something they know), and the code displayed on their security token at that moment (something they have). The combination of the user's password and the correct token code provides a much more reliable level of user authentication than reusable passwords alone. Since each token is associated with a specific user, it eliminates the potential for account sharing and ID theft, and ensures that only authorized users can enter the MLS site.

Users with Rapattoni Secure Logon tokens also have the ability to access any MLS site that they belong to with a single token. The same token they use for their home MLS can also be used to access any other MLS they belong to that utilizes Secure Logon.

The i-Tech MLS has also added Rapattoni's Parcel Mapping feature as part of its technology upgrade. Parcel Mapping integrates high-quality GIS (Geographic Information Systems) data directly into the MLS system. This allows MLS listing data to be presented side-by-side with property data from the county tax records on a map showing property lines. Multiple layers of data can be overlaid on the parcel map, such as lot dimensions, flood zones, sewer line layouts, and school district boundaries.

"It's been a pleasure to work with a group as forward-thinking as the staff at i-Tech," said Andy Rapattoni, president and CEO. "In the past year alone, i-Tech has established data sharing agreements with the two largest regional data shares in California, implemented token-based logon authentication and an SSO portal, as well as enhanced and expanded their mapping and tax data systems. They've certainly kept us busy as we strive to continue to provide them with the best of advancing technology."

About Quattro
In 2006, three of the largest MLSs in Northern California, SFARMLS (San Francisco), BAREIS (the North Bay) and MetroList® (the Sacramento Valley), founded Quattro to provide reciprocal MLS access to their subscribers and an aggregated database to provide for a single IDX feed. Additionally subscribers only pay fees to one MLS and no longer need to subscribe to multiple MLSs. Quattro preserves the ability of existing MLSs to take into account local conditions and practices so that practitioners have the information and tools appropriate for the area in which they conduct business.

The Quattro data sharing solution utilizes Rapattoni technology and services. Quattro invites and welcomes MLSs throughout California to join in this successful data sharing initiative.
