News ArticleCape Coral Realtors® launch Rapattoni MLSDatabase blended with Greater Fort Myers MLS
SIMI VALLEY, Calif., December 6, 2007 – Rapattoni Corporation announced today that the Cape Coral Association of Realtors®, located in Cape Coral, Florida, is launching Rapattoni MLS, Parcel Mapping, and Secure Logon for its nearly 1,000 MLS members. The three new services go live today. This implementation coincides with the Cape Coral Association of Realtors® beginning a blended MLS database with the REALTOR® Association of Greater Fort Myers and The Beach, Inc. Members of both MLSs are now served by a single, blended listing database. Following this launch, Cape Coral members have access to the full database as well as the many MLS enhancements already in use by Greater Fort Myers. These include two-factor logon authentication, powerful mapping tools, and the most advanced searching and prospecting tools in the industry. "Rapattoni provided us with a completely integrated system, allowing us to easily blend our MLS information with Greater Fort Myers," said Karen Mason, association executive of the Cape Coral Association of Realtors®. "Our membership will have not only the advantages of a single database of listings covering the two adjacent communities, but also the impressive set of features and functions offered by Rapattoni." Cape Coral also joins Greater Fort Myers in enhancing its Rapattoni MLS Internet-based multiple listing system with Rapattoni's Parcel Mapping feature, which integrates high-quality GIS (Geographic Information Systems) data directly into the MLS system. This allows both current and sold MLS listing data to be presented side-by-side with property data from the county tax records on a map showing property lines. Multiple layers of data can be overlaid on the parcel map, such as lot dimensions, school district boundaries, flood zones, sewer line layouts, and airport noise zones. Rapattoni Secure Logon increases data security for the MLS by requiring strong, two-factor user authentication during logon. Users provide "two-factor authentication" — their ID and password (something they know), and the code displayed on their security token at that moment (something they have). The combination of the user's password and the correct token code provides a much more reliable level of user authentication than reusable passwords alone. Since each token is associated with a specific user, it eliminates the potential for account sharing and ID theft, and ensures that only authorized users can enter the MLS site. Nick Rapattoni, president of Rapattoni Corporation, said, "Florida's real estate market is certainly dynamic, and our customer base there continues to grow thanks to the wide array of products and services that we offer. We're pleased to welcome Cape Coral to our list of distinguished customers."
