SIMI VALLEY, Calif., August 7, 2018 – Industry veteran Rex Marr has announced his retirement after 50 years in the real estate industry, as reported by Rapattoni Corporation (Rapattoni) of Simi Valley, California.
“We have had a good run and long relationship with Rex, who started with us in sales 14 years ago on April 27, 2004,” stated Rapattoni President Ralph Hoover. “Due to his many years in the industry, Rex knew all the players and was well liked.”
Niki Rapattoni, Chief Executive Officer, added, “Rex and my late husband, Andy, started at Realtron Corporation in Detroit, Michigan, the same week in 1968. Andy went on to form Rapattoni Corporation in 1970 and Rex made a career at Realtron. We have known Rex for half a century and been through lots of changes together. Andy and Rex became our ‘grey hairs’ of knowledge and contacts in the industry. We can’t thank Rex enough for his contributions and being part of our company.”
Rex reflected, “Back in 1968, Realtron was bringing up the first computer MLS system in the country and I worked for them for over 30 years, and served as their Vice President for 21 years before it was purchased and became Interealty. From there, I joined Supra for four years before joining Andy and the team at Rapattoni in 2004. This has been a marvelous career and I’ve made a lot of wonderful friends.”
“Rex is a great guy who seems to know everyone in the world of organized real estate. He has always been positive and upbeat and we have attended many conferences and expos together through the 35 years that I’ve known him,” remarked Vice President of Sales Kevin Wolfe.
Rex and his wife, Susan Young, travel back and forth between homes in Ohio and Florida where they have numerous combined families of children and grandchildren. Rapattoni will celebrate his retirement in November at the REALTORS® Conference & Expo in Boston.
