WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., September 9, 2020 – Rapattoni Corporation (Rapattoni) is pleased to announce that August 2020 marked its 50th anniversary serving the real estate industry. Founded by Andy and Niki Rapattoni in 1970, the company has built a history of providing innovative software designed exclusively for the real estate industry. Chief Executive Officer Niki Rapattoni reflects, “Andy’s first programs were marketed to real estate brokers and included Buying vs. Renting, Loan Amortization, Property Management, and Investment Analysis. He demoed on a teletype with a phone dial-up to a mainframe. He wrote the first membership system for a California association of realtors and added more modules until 1985, when he decided to produce software exclusively for real estate associations. We then continued to develop and refine our products through the advent of personal computers over the next two decades.”

In 1993, Andy Rapattoni campaigned for the industry to create a unique member number that stayed with real estate professionals no matter where they moved, an idea that evolved into the NRDS ID number which is now used by all NAR members. Rapattoni went on to become one of the pioneers in web-based MLS systems in 1999. The company also led the industry in delivering single sign-on and secure two-factor authentication for realtors, offering token-based Secure Logon in 2006, Single Sign-On in 2007, and keyless Adaptive Authentication in 2009.

In January 2016, Rapattoni released Cloud AMS as the next generation of its industry-leading AMS product, featuring a powerful Member Portal and flexible cloud hosting that eliminated the need for associations to maintain expensive servers and software licenses. Four years later, Rapattoni launched its first international Cloud AMS customer in January 2020 with the Saskatchewan REALTORS® Association encompassing Canada’s entire Saskatchewan Province.

Niki Rapattoni shared some additional memories on the company’s many changes through the years, “This has been a historic decade filled with so much we never anticipated. Andy’s passing in 2015 set a new course as I stepped into the CEO position and formed an executive team to lead the new visionaries and formalized our leadership team to make it all happen. Cloud AMS was introduced in 2016 and has been a huge success along with continued enhancements to our MLS and IWS products. Having started with one desk and two phones 50 years ago, this past year has been similar in many respects with new challenges of relocating our office to Westlake Village after 30 years in Simi Valley, we had barely moved when the pandemic hit, and we tackled five new MLS contracts plus the huge Real Estate California project and much more without missing a beat! With exciting new plans for all products, I can hear Andy saying, ‘We are a 50-year-old startup company with an amazing future!’”
